There's NO way it can be THAT inefficient o_0 I mean really... Unless it's not tuned for ethanol properly, in which case he's losing out on about
100hp! If he IS tuned for ethanol and still getting that bad of mileage, something has to be wrong

Eh, just confirmed with the owner, the car has now 580hp... (400hp was when he didn't use the turbo)
But, for the mileage per liter, yes, it's that inefficient... But, he doesn't really care! The carb is prepared for ethanol, so, I believe it's just like that... BTW ethanol is still cheap, so he can travel short distances... And for the rims, I'm with you... My car has its stock 14'' rims, and for the price of one of those 19'' tires, I can buy 8 tires for mine!

Yea, Ethanol does have the benefit of being inexpensive, and able to produce quite a bit of power over normal gas. Here's a great example with just E85
(85% 105oc Ethanol, 15% gasoline) on the GM truck motors: http://media.gm.com/us/po...53L_LMG_Avalanche_SAE.pdf
That's the automatic change in power you get when you fill up with E85 and the computer system detects the fuel, which loads a different programming. There's one supercar (this koenigsegg ) that has a Gas and Ethanol comparison, and it makes a good 200bhp more with Ethanol I still am not sure how his car makes good power but bad economy

Yeah Max, your conversion is right... The prob is here we use Kilometer per Liter for gas mileage, so it's kinda complicated to make the conversion... His
car is doing about 5km/liter of ethanol...
And, biofuel, in Brazil is already oldschool... We have good cars running on ethanol since late 70's! His car is originally an ethanol drinker!! Mine runs on Gasoline, BTW... Easier to turn on when it's cold in the morning...

Yea, Ethanol isn't anything new, but it's much more accepted now. Hell the first diesel engine was intended to run on Peanut oil!!

Just got a 2005 Infiniti G35x and I couldn't be happier with it. I gotta install a hack so that I can hook up my Ipod and control it from the stereo
controls.

I've never really done anything on cars, so I'm wondering how easy it would be for me to install an ipod adpter to my stereo.
Here is what I'm gonna buy: http://www.autosoundcentral.com/Peripheral_iSimple_PXAMG_PGHNI1_Nissan_iPod_Adapte_p/pxamgpghni1.htm Is this something that I can install myself? How easy is it to access the stereo? |

For that price, I'd just get a new stereo with iPod or "Aux In" (auxiliary input) like my AIWA has. I plug in my phone or MP3 player with a
Male-Male 3.5mm Phono cable. My Firebird just has a MP3 capable CD player in it, which I really like, but I like the AIWA in the Toyota I had been driving
forever.
EDIT: I guess I could answer your Q at least lol If you have any electrical or wiring knowledge, you should be able to tackle this. However depending on where they plan for you to place the module, it could be a pain in the ass for someone who isn't familiar with interior panels, as they CAN be a real pain in the ass to remove. They like to hide screws and sometimes the retention clips really hold them in tight. Understandably so, otherwise they'd rattle, but still a @#*%#

Considering how new your car is, it's gonna be a royal pain in the ass to install it if you've never done one before. I would let a shop do it.

Alright then. I'll take both of your's advice and take it to a shop. I got a buddy that used to be a manager at some stereo installation place so maybe
he could hook me up with a deal.
Thanks a bunch. |

Here my mate's rally based car, I am helping him with this awesome project
Mitsubishi Colt GTi CA0 with a Libero 3G94T 1.8 Litre Turbo 205BHP Engine and lots of Samco tubing and an Eclipse GS-T Gearbox, Lots of Samco tubing here
New Carbon Hood
The car wthout the Evo II Bumper, we cut the original Colt GTi bumper to fit the Inter Coler temporally.
This project is still in progress when finnished we'll have 230 bhp + Diff Differential modded gearbox, hereby allowing a better defivded of power to the front wheels. this is the new Waste gate: We also added these Recaro seats from an Evo III We call it the Colt GSR, simple it has the same engine used in the Lancer GSR Once finnished for the first test drive this Colt GSR CA0 will have about 230 bhp after all main modifications

I love conquests/starions; 80's hotness FTW. The 4g63 is the best engine Mitsubishi ever made.

You should stroke and punch it to a 2.9l, or whatever the kit is heh

The US models didn't get the 4g63. We got the G54B, it is a much larger engine, 2.6L. It makes about the same HP, and much more torque. It isn't as
tunable though. Still a cool engine. The first import doorslammer to run a 7 second 1/4 mile ran a very customized G54B.
I've driven my Conquest a total of 24 miles and I've had it for 2 years. When I got it the powersteering pump was seized, it had a massive vacuum leak, the distributor's vacuum advance was jacked and the injectors were leaking. It has been gathering parts for a while and really is is only aiting for me to decided if I want it on the road now, or if I want it finnished. I've imported the M6 head from Austrailia and the Magna intake. My hope in the end is 300WHP, but I'll settle for less. Mine is an 86 so it has the weaker tranmission and rear end, but I'm not a drag racer, so it should be Ok.

Ah yes, forgot the 4G63 was the 2.0 or whatever. Same thing that the Eclipses got right? And I never heard of it referred to as the G54B, just the 4G54
But wow you grabbed the Magna O_O Isn't that like... $1500? Not including shipping. You should pick up the hood off the early 80s Starions
Since I never knew anything about the car from the previous owner, since I got it from a repossession auction, I'm not sure what all was done to mine. But I had the intercooler, fuel injection, 16" rims, 5spd but all the usual things that the 85-86 had that were better from 87-89. It was also a Chrysler which apparently weren't badged as that until 87... Technically it was a TSi but wasn't due to the TSi not becoming a package till 87 lol I was pretty confused about that car as far as what it was and wasn't, considering that it was technically an 84 (build date 01/85) but I couldn't look it up in the computers at the parts store I worked at unless I put in 85 and as Dodge heh EDIT: This oddly seems to sum up mine, except mine WAS a MOPAR since it had the "Imported for Chrysler, by Mitsubishi" sticker on the firewall. GSR-III - Improved audio system, trip computer system, digital dash cluster, and air conditioning.
