theoritcal question win vista to win 7

just for curiosity sake as i would never do anything illegal if you're running a pirated copy of windows vista ultimate with a sli hack for activation and you purchase a full version of win7 prof and want to do a simple upgrade will it work or would it be wiser to simply backup all important data and do a clean install. just trying to get some information thats all, if im out of line i apologize.

As always, I try to put everything I ever sell online on here for a small deal. (And hopefully increasing visibility..) While this has nothing to do with electronics, I know a few people on here are physically active.

Issues with Windows 7..

Well, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to Windows 7. So far, I'm liking it. It's faster than Vista (Yes, that makes no sense, since Vista means fast, etc etc), it has quite a few nice features, etc.
But, I'm having a seriously stupid problem. My LAN keeps dropping out. At first, I thought it was my Linksys router, since it's been a POS since day 1. But, my brother and father are not being kicked off the net when I am, so I can't blame the router.

I was looking at eBay 3dfx video card prices and I cannot believe what some people are asking for, for example, a Voodoo Graphics: US$100, or 175US$ for a Voodoo2 !!! . Why do you think they're so overpriced?. Nostalgia?, collectors?, to play old games?.

I remember the jump form IE 6 to 7 was huge and not without problems so I was wondering if IE 8 is safe for the most part...

Hey!, I'm from Argentina and I saw at the local e-Bay like web page (MercadoLibre) a guy that sells a 3dfx 500W Power Supply. I'm really surprised because the box has printed the newer 3dfx logo on it what it makes it look more real. Did you know about 3fdx producing power supplies?. And if it's a 500W it should have no more than 2 years old. Here's the link (in spanish):

is there any test that you can perform with a standard tester on a USB port?

case: if not wired correctly, when you plug a USB memory on the port, the memory could be permanently damaged

if a standard tester can't do the job, where can I buy a cheap tester to avoid this problem?

Hi folks! Long time no see!

This Monday, windows 7 just decided to not recognize my 3G modem anymore... No matter what I've tried, even removing the chip inside the thing, it just refused to work. So, after hours of pain, driver removal, system restores, the solution was clear: FORMAT!

I´m new here and hope to find some help.

I want to flash my V5 5k Bios to 1.18 but there is everytime the *a 3dfx Banshee or Voodoo3 is not in this system* -failure.

I boot in DOS, i tried another DOS, i tried another flasher, i tried some BIOS´s but everytime this failure.

First i thougt i don´t have the right BIOS, but i have, originals and modified Bios. Then i´ve read that it´s a failure of the flash-utility
because the flasher...
